Frequently Ask Questions

I am not sure what ensemble is suitable for my child, what should I do?
Not a problem. Students are welcome to try a variety of ensembles to ensure they are comfortable with the standard of music. Parents and students can discuss this with staff during the camp. On the application, please select what you believe might be the best ensemble and have a chat with the ensemble instructor on day one.
   

What time does the day camp start and finish?

Each day begins at 8:45am and goes until 4:15pm. With the finale concert on the Friday evening commencing at 6:15pm, students will finish at 2pm to ensure there is plently of time to be ready to return at 5:45pm to warm up for the concert. 

 

Do I need to bring my own instrument and music stand?
Yes. Students must bring their own instrument as this will not be supplied. There are a limited number of stands available, although students are asked to bring their own ‘labelled’ stand. Percussion equipment will be provided, although students are welcome to bring their own equipment.
 

Do students need to bring their own lunch?
Students are welcome to bring their own morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. There is a canteen available and food and drinks can be purchased during these times.
 

Must students wear the Bel Canto Music performance shirt?
Yes. To ensure all performers look and feel like professionals, all students must wear the prescribed Bel Canto Music performance shirt. Please ensure this is done at least two weeks prior to camp to ensure the appropriate size is available.
